Ransomware is malware (malicious software) used by a malicious entity to prevent an authorized entity from access to computer systems and data. The affected computer system is held hostage until a "ransom" has been rendered. Ransomware normally enters into a system through hackings and/or social engineering techniques.

Marcus has all the technical skills that we look for in a CISO/CTO. First, he understands the business, then has the technical chops to translate what is needed for the IT network to be operated and secured properly. I've counted on him to lead operations and make all the right decisions to ensure mission success - and he did so with flying colors.
Marcus served as a guest speaker for one of my online courses. He provided fantastic insights for students related to staying safe in the online environment, with a special focus on today's cybersecurity guidelines. Due to his cutting edge expertise in the field, he was able to share valuable insights with all of the students. He provided a wonderful real-time video presentation with very limited notice. Marcus developed wonderful rapport with the students, as they loved his charismatic presentation! Thanks, Marcus, for presenting to my class
Marcus is a proficient, responsive, intuitive, and understandable IT expert, with an uncommon ability to anticipate my questions even during those times I am not sure what to ask.
From day one, the DBA 2021 class has benefitted from Marcus’ altruism-which comes in the purest form I have ever witnessed. Right from the start, he singlehandedly ensured we utilize technology to stay informed and connected. He never refuses to assist any of us with assignments that require the use of novel technologies. His intellect, common sense, and genuine kindness combine to create the perfect teacher for both casual or advanced technology users.
Marcus and I served together on multiple occasions to include course attendance at the Army Advanced Information Technology Leaders Course and as fellow officers while serving in Information Technology and Security roles. Marcus is an extremely competent Cybersecurity professional who excels in planning, executing, and refining processes. His greatest strength, however, is his ability to lead people and effectively articulate project direction. Marcus possesses the leadership acumen, ability, and vision to lead organizations at the Executive Management Level.
